With this series of drawings and paintings centered around the palm tree motif, Caroline Rennequin reveals her empathy
for nature. Using gouache or acrylic on paper or canvas, she creates a fictional nature with unreal colors and shapes that opens up new perspectives. A former student of decorative arts, the French artist and designer has been pursuing a multidisciplinary practice since the 2000s, joyfully weaving together the relationships between craftsmanship, popular culture, non-Western art, and contemporary art in series after series.
